Adding to the value of the product, the connectors can allow service providers to provision the CRM package prior to an on-site customer installation by using in a hosted single-tenancy mode. According to Kevin Faulkner, product marketing director for Dynamics at Microsoft: "With this pre-provisioning you can set up a system and configure it to Exchange server before you even know who the customer is."
Josh Greenbaum, senior analyst at Enterprise Applications Consulting, had this to add: "The VAR strategy is the core of the Dynamics product line, and the one thing it does for Microsoft is it gives them enormous distribution potential, with 9,000 VARs."
