Impinj outlines RFID Reader Distribution Strategy

Impinj announced Monday that they plan to distribute their RFID Reader via VARs and original equipment manufacturers. The company's Speedway Gen 2 RFID reader will be available to customers in North America, Asia and Europe.

Part of Impinj's GrandPrix RFID Solution, the Reader works with the rest of the system to address two important parts of its retail customers' needs: read reliability and operation in dense reader mode. The solution is in compliance with both American and European standards.

Michael Liard, RFID program director at analyst firm VDC, had this to say about Impinj and RFID technology: "The production launch of Impinj's Speedway reader is a key milestone for the company, and the RFID industry. With Impinj's Monza RFID tag chips becoming increasingly entrenched in the global retail supply chain, companies are appreciating, understanding and expecting the high level of performance and quality that Impinj's RFID products, including the Speedway reader, deliver."
