According to reviewers, the best features of the new product is its speed, compact form and simple-to-use technology. This new product is the first and only high-speed color scanner that can scan double-sided documents and is under $500. The Fujitsu ScanSnap S500 comes with ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap 2.0 and a customized optical character recognition software package. The ScanSnap allows users to convert documents of any type into editable documents in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This scanner also offers file compression capabilities that allows file sizes to be reduced by anywhere from 20 to 50 percent without compromising file integrity.
